Summer is still very much with us, but as autumn-winter approaches we look to our creative colour expert ‘Daisy Ballard’ (from our Hockley salon) to let us know her colour predictions for AW14. Daisy has broken it down to four hair-colour types – where do you fall?

Brunettes  with  warm skin tones “the golden copper AW colour is here! I am bringing back the shine to your sun faded hair! Colour your roots and mid-lengths with a warm golden semi-permanent, coupled with a more intense copper-gold through the ends for a soft gradual all-over colour – add bright orange or hot pink for the lips – fabulous to keep it bright all through winter”

Cool skin tones for highlighted blondes or naturally dark blondes “Bored of your summer dip dye? Don’t get rid of it completely…autumn and winter will see the blending of your two colours closer together. Soft ‘ashy’ natural colours will be all over the autum/winer for your lighter shades. Mix ash blonde (with a hint of gold) for your roots, with a lighter version (semi-permanent) through the ends for a cool natural blonde, leaving out the hair-line to keep brightness to around the face – add a soft pink blusher and pink lipstick for your autumn candy crush”

Bleach Beach blondes! “Still want to feel like a light blonde but scared of a drastic change? Try a chromative temporary colour – a 10 wash colorant, performed before your cut or blow-dry, to add more gold tones through the overall colour. Add a golden glow to revive those beach lifted ends and bring back the shine to those tired blonde locks.  Chromative comes in a variety of colours for a refresh between colour appointments or, to experiment with a temporary look, simply book for ‘gloss cut and finish’

Brown eyes, brown hair “It’s all about blending the hair with the eyes – let your features do all the talking!  If you have brown eyes, this is your moment…..whether you’re keeping your hair slightly lighter for hazel eyes, or going ‘dark and rich’ for those deeper eyes. Expect a lot of brunettes taking the power back from blondes this winter!

You may have started to see ‘bronded’ hair shades (a mixture of not quite blonde, not quite brown) through the hair – Already got it? keep it going, but warm it up for a golden bronzed bronde! Want to go darker? Leave some of your blonde pieces out and use darker colour around them, leaving the ends lighter than the roots and mid lengths.
